Hey friends,
Ty Sunderland hosted Heaven On Earth’s 5 Year anniversary party at Sugar Hill Supper Club in Bedstuy, Brooklyn last week. Music at the party was by P_A_T, Ruby Fox, and Ty himself.
I asked Chatgpt to write a bio of Ty Sunderland and this is the brilliance it came up with: “Ty Sunderland is a popular queer artist who has made a name for himself in the music and fashion industries. His queer party promises to be a night of unforgettable performances, exciting music, and thrilling surprises. Guests can expect to dance the night away to an eclectic mix of pop, hip-hop, and electronic music, as well as to be dazzled by amazing performances and art installations.”
Are you dazzled yet?
ChatGPT is actually run by a homo, Sam Altman, but I think it needs to take in some more language data sets from the queens. Maybe plop a recording device in the backyard at the Rosemont over a Holiday weekend and then input that. Right now it spits out a lot rainbows and generic shit like this: “The party is a safe and welcoming space for members of the LGBTQ+ community.” Thanks for the press release GLAAD!
On that note, GLAAD, if you’re listening, why the fuck are we never invited to any of your events? How many major independent queer publications are their in the U.S.? Not many! It feels like you guys only support straight people who say nice things about us fags, and not the actual fags supporting the community day-in-and-day-out. “OMG, Jay-Z stopped attacking gay people in his lyrics and said something nice about us, quick let’s throw him a dinner and give him a gold statue!” So brave of him to become and “ally” now that it’s financially and socially beneficial to do so. (And don’t come back at me reminding me that his mom is gay — supporting queer family members is the bare minimum we should ask of straights. And he’s just an example of one of the hetros that they continuously roll-out the ABSOLUT pink carpet for).
But back to the queens truly deserving of some gold statues, those who make New York nightlife, the best in the world. Please enjoy some photos of them by our very own @AbiNYC at Ty’s fabu 5th anniversary bash.
xoxo
