Tom’s Weekend at Palm Springs Pride
It's always bikini weather in Palm Springs. Take a trip to the magical desert town for their annual Pride celebration at the Ace Hotel.
Hello—
Welcome to another edition of GAYLETTER.
Today we head to the Ace Hotel in Palm Springs. Tucked under a stunning movie-backdrop-esq mountain range, the hotel is a very dreamy and relaxed place.
When that mean bitch Hurricane Sandy pummeled New York in 2012, and lower Manhattan was without power, hot water and gas for 5 days, we fled the city on a Friday to head to the Ace Hotel in Palm Springs. By chance we had been asked to host a party at the Ace Hotel for Pride. I remember checking into my room and switching on the light — it was a revelation to be freed from candle light. We had a blast chilling by the pool drinking cheap beer. We also visited Tom Bianchi’s house, which I spoke about in the post below.
Tom’s Weekend featured a poolside shopping pop-up selling all the foundation’s product collabs. There was also a “hyper-pop party by FAKE AND GAY” and “In the evening guests moved on to the Amigo Room at Ace for TOM’s Lounge with music by LA’s house collective TUNNEL and sounds by DJs Oza, Palma and Sevyn.”
There was also still-life drawing and a whole bunch of other gay shit.
Looked like a blast.
