Willy Chavarria: Spring/Summer '23

Last night we attended the Will Chavarria NY SS23 runway show at the Marble Collegiate Church on 5th avenue. Words that come to mind to describe the collection include: priestly, voluminous, gothic, personal and hot. Many of the looks were inspired by the costumes worn by members of the Catholic church.
The majority of the show was set to the 1990 Joey Negro Medusa mix of 'I’m Not Afraid of The Future’ by Akabu & Dave Lee. It’s an infectious house track that perfectly clashed with the sombre decor of the 5th avenue church. To end the show models walked to, ‘I want to Thank You’ By Alicia Kennedy. Willy took us to church, and we left dancing.
